The Team on Tour
We like to rally in style and on this page we try to provide an insight into the workings of the team when "out on the road"!
It takes two large vans to carry the team and all the associated equipment for a weekend away from home. As well as towing the car on a trailer, we carry tools, spare parts, compressor, generator, wheels & tyres, lots and lots of petrol and all the bits and bobs to keep the car on the track.
We also carry the "Kernow Dome", a large tent that accommodates the Metro and all our equipment - allowing us to service under cover.
The CAR-nival Stages is always a great rally for the whole team as we are able to camp overnight prior to the event. This "boys weekend away" involves a chance to relax together. The photo below shows the two Duncans, together with the Metro, early in the morning.
Food is an essential part of the team and part of the kit-list includes a catering area with kitchen work area, fridge, kettle, toaster and two large gas barbeques. We take a dining table and chairs so we can sit and eat meals properly - we can't help but wonder if the candlesticks are a step too far sometimes!!
We are planning to include a typical menu for a weekend away, as we really like to make the most of our trips and always eat such culinary delights as large steaks, salad, cooked breakfasts and even roasted leg of lamb. With typically 6-8 people in the team for any particular event Paul is kept as busy cooking, as the rest of the crew are kept servicing the car! There are also usually a number of people who come across for a chat when they smell lunch being cooked!

Paul hard at work in the his kitchen.
We are only allowed into the kitchen when there are dishes to wash and, given Paul's choice in shorts, this is a bonus for us all!!!

Steak, sauté potatoes and ratatouille for tea tonight, served with crusty bread and green salad!
